Classroom Architect
Classroom Architect is a Web 2.0 Tool that is used to design a classroom. This tool is important because the design and functionality of a classroom is essential for a conducive learning environment. This tool allows a teacher to use a service to design his or her room without physically moving anything. The program allows teachers to place items necessary for a classroom in any way they see fit for learning. Classroom Architect also gives suggestions for teachers before creating their potential learning environment. A sample Elementary School Classroom is given. These suggestions include watching out for traffic patterns and ease of use for both students and the teacher.

Uses for Classroom Architect

  1. Classroom Architect can be used by the teacher to arrange the room to his or her liking before the semester begins.
  2. Teachers can identify potential problems in their classrooms design before begining class.
  3. Teachers could have students design their own classroom with guidelines for an assignment. (The winning design could be used as the new classroom layout)
  4. Students could see what it is like using a Web 2.0 Tool by seeing the change they can make inside their class.
